\n\n\n\nTHE HISTORY OF THIS MAKER :<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Matteo Goffriller was a Venetian luthier renowned for his art and his exceptional cello models. He was renowned for adapting to his customers’ demands on wood and dimensions. So he was as close as possible to what the musician wanted. His art was both refined and expressive. This luthier was a particular inspiration to me. So I’m developing a style resulting from a perfect compromise between refinement and expressive craftsmanship, which is the basis of Mr. Goffriller’s work. I conceive a texture of wood and tool marks, to finally end up with a unique sound texture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all know Antonio Stradivari. A renowned violin maker known for his remarkable violins, we are less familiar with his cellos, such as \u201cLa Saveuse\u201d, a small instrument. As well as this magnificent model with its rich, expressive sound. I chose this model as my inspiration, as the woods selected, arching and thickness are close to the original. Although the label states 1700 as the year of making, we assume that this \u201cStauffer\u201d (Ex-\u201cCristiani\u201d) dates from 1708.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
